Benefits for your health and beauty

Healthy body and brain

The benefits of physical activity can be felt both inside and out. More than 40 studies found that regular physical activity not only helps people keep within a healthy weight range, but can cut their risk of developing two dozen physical and mental health problems, improved sexual function, clearer skin, improved mood and sleep.
Additionally to regular exercises it is importance to say about non-exercise movement. Truly, the key to health is to remain as active as you can, all day long, but that doesn't mean you train like an athlete for hours a day. It simply means, whenever you have a chance to move and stretch your body in the course of going about your day—do it!
And the more frequently, the better. Everything from standing up, to reaching for an item on a tall shelf, to weeding in your garden and walking from one room to another, and even doing dishes count. In short, it's physical movement, period, that promotes health benefits by the interaction your body gets with gravity.

Lose weight effectively

Eating less may be a great start to losing weight, but it isn't a comprehensive approach and it has it's drawbacks. When you simply eat less food, your likely to find yourself hungry after meals instead of feeling satiated. This is because your body is used to consuming a larger portion of food.
Most people have acquired a taste for high density, fatty foods. Because of this, it will take some time for you body to adjust to more balanced meals. Additionally, not all macronutrients are created equal. It takes a lot more energy for your body to break down and utilize protein than it does for carbohydrates.
Achieving healthy, sustainable weight loss is about more than just "eating less." It’s about sticking to a balanced, sound nutrition program and exercising more.

The key to feeling and looking good today

while protecting your health into tomorrow is eating a variety of fresh, raw, organic foods. Choosing on a regular basis from the variety of superfoods and making them part of your weekly diet will improve your health and vitality beyond your dreams.

One of the best superfoods: Spirulina

This blue-green algae is considered one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. Gram for gram, it’s higher in protein than red meat, contains all of the essential fatty acids your body needs. Provided in its typical supplement form as a dried powder, a 100 gram amount of spirulina supplies 290 Calories and is a rich source (20% or more of the Daily Value, DV) of numerous essential nutrients, particularly B vitamins (thiamin and riboflavin, 207% and 306% DV, respectively) and dietary minerals, such as iron (219% DV) and manganese (90% DV)** Health benefits of spirulina include potentially preventing plaque buildup in the arteries, lowering blood pressure and protecting against cancer.

100g of Spirulina contain 1,9mg of Manganese (90% of DV)

Spirulina is 65% protein and amino acids including the essential fatty acid gamma linolenic acid (GLA)

But... Pick the right one!

It’s absolutely critical to make sure that the quality and purity of the spirulina that you consume is of the highest standards. Particularly, like anything that comes from the sea, be certain to only purchase blue-green algae that is free from contamination. According to WebMD, contaminated spirulina can cause the following: Liver damage, Stomach pain, Nausea, Vomiting, Weakness, Thirst, Rapid heartbeat, Shock and even death. Also, some sources suggest that pregnant women and children should not consume algae. Contact your natural health care provider to confirm whether or not you should be using spirulina supplements.

Health of bones

Calcium is an essential mineral needed for bone health, is very important in the building and maintenance of teeth and it plays a key role in our cells. Even though our bodies need calcium, we don’t produce the mineral. We get it from the foods we eat every day. Unfortunately, most people don’t get enough calcium.

Table of calcium values

Food (100g) How much Calcium (mg) DI (Daily Intake)
Sesame seeds 100g 989mg 99%
Chia seeds 100g 635mg 64%
Winged beans 100g 442mg 44%
Almond 1 cup 367mg 37%
Fried Tofu 100g 372mg 37%
Milk* 1 cup 276 mg 28%
Turnip greens 100g 190mg 19%
Bok Choy 1 cup 158mg 16%
Dried Figs 5 pieces 135mg 14%
Broccoli 1 cup 74mg 7%
Orange Juice 1 cup 72mg 7%

*The calcium in raw milk is absorbed by humans to some degree but after pasteurization we are able to absorb very little calcium at all. In fact, since milk is slightly acidic our body has to work to neutralize it. Calcium happens to be an excellent alkaline element so it can be used as an acid-neutralizer. Where would your body find calcium? Your body can actually pull it from your bones leaving them calcium-deficient and weaker!
